Position: Development and Bookkeeping Assistant--Thank you, but this job has been filled.
Goal: The Development and Bookkeeping Assistant is responsible for administrative aspects of development and bookkeeping activities. This internal operations person is responsible for tracking payments and receipts, entering them into the proper software, coding the bills for the external bookkeeping service (PBS, Inc.), getting the documents to and from PBS and the checks to Trinity Lutheran for processing. This position is also responsible for managing donations, tracking donors and any extra information useful for the director, assisting with event management, making phone calls to obtain speaking engagements and getting appointments for outreach contacts, and other development duties as agreed-upon. The goal of this position is to assist in keeping track of agency finances and improving the financial standing of Lost and Found Ministry. Duties:
Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence within 48 hours of receipt.
Maintain donor and pertinent volunteer files.
Create fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
Continually update and correct database records.
Track, file, and prepare documentation for payments for bills.
Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors.
Contact donors as needed to keep them informed and interested in the ministry.
Assist with managing events including logistics, guest lists, promotion, prizes, brochures, handouts, and other pieces pertinent to the promotion and execution of fundraising or recognition events.
Manage fundraising volunteers as needed for events, mailings, publicity, and other public relations needs.
Other duties as assigned by the executive director including general executive support.
Qualifications:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
A minimum of two years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Access, Excel and PowerPoint; Database management experience – GiftWorks preferred.
Knowledgeable of bookkeeping software.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an emphasis on telephone and email etiquette.
Ability to talk comfortably with businesses and donors about the non-profit and to secure material donations.
Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Cheerful disposition and ability to work well with the public
Excellent interpersonal skills

Supportive of the mission of Trinity Lutheran Church and Lost and Found Ministry and can represent them well to the public.
Flexible schedule to allow for some evening and weekend work for events and as needed.
Ability to pass a background check and have a clean driving record.
Other: This is a 8-15 hour/week flexible position located at Lost and Found Ministry. This is a great opportunity to grow skills while working in a fast-paced and growing spiritual human service environment. Reports to the executive director who is head of external development operations.

It provides chemical dependency evaluations, pastoral counseling and 5th Steps, family counseling pertinent to addiction, support groups, and chemical addiction interventions.
